||How do you motivate people to take action and help save a place? Grant Stevens from the National Trust for Historic Preservation will share successful examples of work engaging local preservationists at buildings and landscapes throughout the country as part of the National Trusts signature program, National Treasures. National Treasures are a diverse portfolio of more than 50 places around the country that are threatened and face an uncertain future; they include historic buildings, neighborhoods, communities, landscapes, ships, and engineering landmarks. Grant will highlight several National Treasures, including the James River in Virginia, the Pullman Historic District in Chicago, and Cincinnatis Union Terminal. He will also facilitate an audience conversation about how the lessons learned can be applied to other projects.
