||Interactive Web Tools to Effectively Distribute High Resolution Data and Inform Landscape Planning
||Advances in web-based GIS platforms have improved access to geospatial data and powerful analytic tools that were previously only available to GIS professionals. Chesapeake Conservancy is pioneering the use of these tools to both share access to new landscape scale datasets detailing natural and cultural resources as well as to create interactive tools that help identify regional priorities for conservation. This presentation will discuss new ways to access regional data provided by the North Atlantic LCC and the Chesapeake Conservancys Precision Conservation products and will demonstrate interactive analysis tools that simplify complex analyses and make them accessible to organizations of all sizes and capabilities. Using these tools, conservation partners will have the ability to better understand where on the landscape resources should be focused, identify the potential impacts of conservation and restoration actions, and better communicate to funders the importance of protecting a specific landscape.
